Taylor Brooks recently announced that Oregon Adventure Trucks has leased and moved into a new space at NoCo in Juniper Ridge. The new facility will serve as Oregon Adventure Truck’s hub for overland vehicle upfitting, selling high-end truck toppers and campers, truck recovery gear, solar panels, solar generators, fire pits, bags, bug screens, thermal liners, toppers, and of course custom builds. The company also hosts customer events and hands-on training for adventure enthusiasts.
Q: Why did you move from your previous space?
A: Our old location didn’t work great as our business was trying to expand. We only had one working bay, and a small parking lot. As we’ve grown the business, we required more room for complex vehicle builds. We also wanted to create a welcoming space where we can host workshops and additional training for our clients.
Q: What specifically do you like about NoCo that helped you make this decision?
A: Having a location that served the Northeast side of Bend was important to us, as I feel this is an underserved section of the community that has a lot of expansion opportunity. Also, the proximity to highway 97 was important to us as we have customers that visit us from all over the PNW and Canada. With the expectation that NoCo will soon have retail, restaurants, and other services that share the same parking lot, it will soon provide more exposure to our retail store and local vehicle services.
Q: What are the top three things you’d like customers to know about OAT?
A: First of all, we’re focused on getting more people outside. Oregon Adventure Trucks was founded around a simple belief: time spent in remote places helps people decompress, reconnect, and recharge. Whether someone drives a stock SUV, a Rivian, a Tacoma, or a fully built expedition vehicle, the mission is to lower the barriers to adventure and help people experience the outdoors with confidence.
Secondly, we don’t just build vehicles – we help people use them. Many shops can install gear. Oregon Adventure Trucks does that, too, but also teaches people how to safely and confidently use it. Through hands-on 4×4 training, recovery instruction, navigation workshops, and remote travel education, the goal is to help people explore responsibly and return home safely.
And finally, we believe public lands are worth protecting. Beyond vehicle builds and gear sales, Oregon Adventure Trucks actively promotes responsible recreation, land stewardship, and trail access. The company incorporates “Tread Lightly!” principles into its training and has supported community efforts focused on keeping public lands clean, accessible, and enjoyable for future generations
Q: What unique products or services do you offer that are hard to find in the region?
A: We are mainly known as the region’s local dealer for AT Overland campers and toppers, but we also carry so much more. We are also the exclusive installer and servicer for AEV (American Expedition Vehicle) parts, Certified Truma heater products installers and servicers, and carry high-end brands of backcountry fridges and power systems like National Luna and Redarc. In this new space we are expanding our services to offer clients full build services like suspension kits, extensive off-grid battery systems, and full adventure truck build-outs.
Q: What are your favorite kinds of projects to work on?
A: For me, working with people who have dreams to explore is what gets me excited most. Whether that is helping someone plan out their dream adventure vehicle, watching a new skill be learned, or hearing from a client who just completed a bucket list trip in a vehicle we built for them.
Q: When did you start the company, and how did you get into this business?
A: The company was founded in 2019. Throughout my life I always had a drive to adventure, and had a lot of opportunities to learn a lot about this industry. The biggest driver was taking what I loved about exploring to remote places, and helping more people share a similar experience.
Q: What do you personally enjoy outside of work?
A: I like to play in the mountains and the desert, and this comes in the form of mountain biking, hiking, and snowboarding. I also love travel, both in my backyard and internationally. One of my favorite things to do when traveling is learn that destination’s culture, and eat the local food.
