Shevlin Crossing is where history and progress meet. Bend’s newest Class A office project celebrates the region’s rich timber history with its cross laminated, mass timber design and environmentally friendly construction.

The property is located at a key entrance to the desirable NorthWest Crossing neighborhood, near developed homes and across the street from the Shevlin Health & Wellness campus. With high visibility at the Shevlin Park Road/NW Crossing Drive roundabout, there was an opportunity to develop a beautiful and sustainable commercial project only 2 miles from downtown that could be an asset to the neighborhood and stand the test of time.
To celebrate the region’s rich timber history, as well as to be sensitive to our environment, the team chose to utilize a cross laminated timber (CLT) design. CLT construction uses less concrete and steel than conventionally built buildings, and the amount of timber used in the buildings is replenished quickly in the forests of Oregon.
We approached the project by designing two 2-story buildings that frame Shevlin Park Road and NW Crossing Drive, and a third one-story building on the lot across Labiche Lane. The two 2-story buildings will be nearly identical in design, with the second being larger. One building will include a small retail café space on the first floor. A shared courtyard space off the café will offer tenants and guests a pleasant outdoor space to meet, dine and work. The single-story third building will complement the design and use of the surrounding commercial and medical facilities.
Given the lack of Class-A office buildings constructed in recent years in Bend, this campus offers an excellent opportunity to provide top-tier office space suitable for a range of tenants.
